TAO Downtown Restaurant is a versatile venue that can be transformed for various events such as concerts, conferences, galas, dinners, film shoots, receptions, and more. Located in the heart of Chelsea, this subterranean restaurant has a gorgeous open space with high ceilings and the signature 20ft tall Quan Yin statue, making it one of NYC’s most dramatic dining rooms. The venue consists of two levels, the Main Dining Room and the Upper Level which includes the Skyboxes, Ink Bar, and the Reclining Buddha Lounge. Tao Group Events offers a wide range of in-house production services including A/V, entertainment, décor, and talent sourcing.

1. Full Venue Buyout – Restaurant + Nightclub
For large-scale events, TAO Downtown’s Full Venue Buyout presents an unmatched opportunity to combine the vibrant restaurant and the dynamic nightclub into one expansive venue. Spanning 30,000 square feet with a capacity of 1,200 guests, this option includes multiple full-service bars, two entrances, and two fully equipped DJ booths, all connected seamlessly through the Main Dining Room. 2. Skybox East & West (2)
For an intimate yet elevated experience, the Skybox East and West dining rooms overlook the Main Dining Room and provide a semi-private setting for special occasions. Located on opposite sides of the restaurant, these spaces feature sheer curtains that can be drawn to enhance privacy. Ideal for smaller gatherings, the combined 1,000 square feet accommodates up to 22 guests (each), making these rooms perfect for intimate dinners or exclusive celebrations.

3. The Reclining Buddha Lounge
Ascend TAO Downtown’s iconic Grand Staircase to the Reclining Buddha Lounge, a semi-private space offering panoramic views of the bustling Main Dining Room. Nestled away from the Main Dining Room, these tranquil spaces offer 400 square feet of dining area with a capacity of 10 guests each. TAO Downtown Nightclub
Adjacent to the restaurant, the TAO Downtown Nightclub offers a dynamic and versatile venue within a luxurious, industrial-chic design. High ceilings, exposed brick walls, and custom artwork create an elegant and vibrant atmosphere across its 2,500 square feet. Accommodating up to 200 guests, this space seamlessly transitions from a lively nightlife destination to a refined private dining or event lounge.
